OBSKURA FILM EVENT: Cosmonautics Party in London

Are you a fan of bizarre Soviet sci-fi, gigantic hot dogs and theremin music? Then join us on Wednesday, April 2, for an unforgettable party with films, music and food inspired by the Space Race era. Lydia Kavina, the legendary Russian theremin player, heads the bill.

Our film programme will take you from the 1920s visions of space travel to the legacy of Soviet Space Programme with short films exploring the ways the Space Race era left a mark on our history.

Theremin virtuosa Lydia Kavina, who worked on soundtracks of films like Ed Wood and eXistenZ, will be playing her alien music this eveningfollowed by DJ Mourrka‘s set of Russian Cosmonautics anthems.


Chefs from Russian Revels will serve their delicious cosmic speciality – gigantic Laika Hot Dogs (and Hot Cats for vegetarians).
